You would be surprised how many people ask the same questions. Here are the top 10 to save us both a little
inbox-time.

How much do Sweet Peas cakes cost?

Cake prices depend on the size and complexity of the design. Cakes start at $6/serving (for plain fondant), and can go over $20/serving (for standing sculpted cakes). Please note: I have a minimum order of $100 or 2 dozen cupcakes.

What is ganache?

Ganache is like the creamy filling you find inside a chocolate truffle. It is an emulsion of cream and chocolate that can be infused with many different flavours. (See what I mean on my Flavours page.)

When should I book my cake?

The earlier the better! I only take on approximately 4 cake orders a week, so spots fill up fast. To avoid disappointment, I recommend contacting me approximately 6 weeks before your event (or 6 months before your wedding if you have booked it in June, July or August). I can occasionally accommodate last minute requests, so it never hurts to ask!

Do you deliver?

Yes, I do deliver. I highly recommend having any cake over two tiers delivered. Sweet Peas is equipped with special insulated containers that secure your cake during transportation.

How do I store my cake?

Unless otherwise instructed by me, room temperature is best. And let’s face it - your fridge is probably maxed out with party food anyways!

How do I cut my cake?

Upon pick up or delivery, I will include a detailed cutting chart. The instructions are easy enough for anyone to follow and they can be passed along to your venue if your cake is being cut for you. The cutting chart will include a list of non-edibles (if applicable) and approximate dowel placement. Cutting a cake has never been easier!

Do you accommodate for different allergies?

Please let me know if you have any allergies. I may not be able to make your cake, but I can possibly recommend a more specialized, local vendor that can! At the end of the day we all deserve a piece of cake!

How much is the deposit?

I require a 50% deposit on all cake orders. Once your deposit is paid your date is reserved.

Can you copy a specific cake?

I think everyone deserves a unique cake, not a repli-cake. But feel free to attach some inspirational pictures during the quoting process, and we can incorporate some of the ideas into YOUR cake!

Do you offer wedding Tastings?

I do offer tastings to brides and grooms. There is a $25 fee, and that fee will be transferred to your cake deposit upon booking your date. You will sample 3 different cake combos of your choosing, while we chat about your design ideas and requirements.
